I love the black outlines around the colors.

thank you! with this one, i was really careful about how i put the colors together and added water actually working to get get this look. yay! hahah nothing ends up looking like i intended it too. i'm not really that worried about having things neat and tidy with straight lines. i get very messy, very! i'm usually much happier when something turns out really well when you were convinced that it wouldn't work out and you find a way to adapt it, change it. uh oh, losing train of thought!

I do love how nothing I make either turns out like I expect. Lots of surprises that way

that's beautiful! I love the top sections where it's bleeding together and at the bottom in the center where the purple and red and green are all meeting up is really complex and intense! I love that area

thank you so much! i really like this one, too. i think it's the best one i've done with the fabric dye. i only have three colors of it (i have more coming in the mail) so it's making me really work to do different things with them. using them with a lot of water makes these kind of awesome effects. the colors are more intense than anything i've painted with.

i'm curious, and you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but i wonder why you have so little art in your gallery. it seems like you've created a lot of art, i'd love to see it...

i think working with limited palettes is always an awesome experience in terms of broadening your skill set. it really forces you to do interesting things. I definitely think this is a really successful work. there's sooo much going on and yet its incredibly balanced and is functioning REALLY well as a whole. I don't see any areas where things are incongruous or anything, it's really really gorgeous! and I love how its obvious that you just let the paint do what it was going to do in a lot of areas. Water based paints take courage

As for my gallery, a lot of it has to do with reproducing it digitally - some of my stuff just does not behave well for cameras or scanners. I actually have 9 paintings in my dreams series but ive posted only the three that actually look like themselves on my screen. also I've got a lot of work that family members kind of hoarded away before I could get a good file of them, though eventually that can be remedied. I'm also kind of holding back and uploading things a little at a time. more art is coming, i just like spacing it out hahaha. And then the last reason is that after school I stopped painting for a full year because i went through a major identity crisis where I couldn't figure out where I started and the philosophies, techniques, and tastes of my professors stopped. So I just STOPPED making art for an entire year (so im lacking a bit in work from 2012 to now). In that time I taught myself how to crochet and knit to keep my hands busy so I didn't go insane. Only about 2 months ago have I started actively painting again, and things are rocky in that department. I feel like im a mushed up worm in a cocoon. I'm posting new watercolor works but they're not up to par with the stuff I was making in school, so that's depressing haha. that's just a matter of practice though, I'll get myself figured out. I find watercolors MUCH more challenging than acrylics or oil paints. I started painting with oils again too! I'm starting a new series actually. The first painting should be done in a few days! and I'm very excited for it, I think it's going fairly well. So the short answer is that you'll see more :D, just in little bits and probably chronologically out of order.

I simply adore thes bright shades, there's a sort of inner light in these colourations. Keep it up, fabric dye seems to be quite a successful idea.

oh wow! that is beautiful! It looks like neon paint almost! Have you tried neon paint? Its a bit weird, but I used it in art class and when the black light is there, it's very cool :) But i LOVE what you do here! How it drips, sprays, bleeds and all that! :D and the colors just draw me into it!! :D very good job! :D i love your work :)
