i am a medical marijuana patient (yay for living in cali!). i use it in edible and smokable forms for arthritis, migraines, and bipolar disorder. it makes a huge difference more, i think, than the prescriptions drugs. it' better in so many ways.

i go to what the new york times called the best dispensary in california, the harborside health center (in oakland). i recently had a radical hysterectomy to cure endometriosis. (hence the a pain in the abdomen in the painting.) the edibles (brownies, cookies, cheesecake, tea, chocolate, gelato even!) help me sleep better than ambien does. at harborside they are so kind and considerate. in the weeks after the surgery when i go there for my medicine they let me use the handicapped lift, put me at the front of the line and get give me a chair to sit in while i discuss what i want with one of the people who work there. they do free massage and acupuncture for patients who go there. is is less sleazy than a pharmacy. clean and bright and friendly. it's a revolution!
